Search strategies for our simple search
Click for more search options

• You may specify the author's first name or last name, or a couple of words from the title.

• Also, you may use boolean operators. + to indicate inclusion and - to indicate exclusion. You may also search by year, volume, issue, MSC numbers and keywords.

• For the year, volume and issue, say you are searching for issue 1 in 2004, just type +issue1 +year2004. Similarly for the volume, you can use volume54 for example. Just make sure there is no space between the word year, volume or issue, and the corresponding number.

• For the MSC numbers, you could enter a string like: 20M14 35F25 49L25 91B44

• +47A would return all papers with a mathematics subject classification number beginning with 47A.

Do former institutional subscribers have perpetual access?

• While current subscribers may access all full-text documents, regardless of year, former subscribers retain access only to the volumes published during the years for which they held a paid subscription.

• When an institution ceases to subscribe, its IP address is dropped from the server registry. However, postal zip codes can serve to identify most institutions formerly subscribed.

• Some countries do not have regular zip codes, e.g., Ireland. In some cases, a phrase such as Dublin 2 may suffice. Otherwise, please write to the Editorial Office to activate perpetual access when zip codes are not available.

• This server maintains a registry of all names and ip addresses used to request full-text documents. Claims found to be intentionally untrue will result in denial of service in the future.

I am affiliated to an institution that subscribed to the IUMJ in the past; this gives me perpetual access to the full-text documents. Though not a requirement, I am supplying my email so that the IUMJ staff will send me the document if the server does not recognize the postal zip of my university.

How to obtain a courtesy copy (gratis)

• Individual non-subscribers may request to download one full-text document per calendar year.

• This server maintains a registry of all ip and email addresses used to download courtesy copies.

• Researchers who have already obtained a complimentary copy during the current calendar year are encouraged to write to the Editorial Office to see whether other accommodations may be made.

• If you make a request via e-mail, please be specific and include either the article id number or the title of the paper in full, plus year of publication and volume number.

• Example: "I need article id #2162, volume 51 (2002)."

Though I was never a paid subscriber, I request a complimentary copy. I further state that I have not received a courtesy copy during this calendar year.

How to apply for username and password

• Only individual researchers may request usernames and passwords.

• Under exceptional circumstances, an individual affiliated to a university currently subscribing to the IUMJ may request username-password login, for example, when sabbatical leave or illness or retirement make it impractical for the faculty member to use the institutional IP address.

• Authors of papers published in the IUMJ may request login privileges if their institution does not subscribe to the Journal.

• To request username and password for individual login please write to the Editorial Office of the IUMJ.
